Key finding

A cohort study of nearly 5 million Swedes finds that a history of tonsillectomy, adenotonsillectomy and adenoidectomy is associated with a modest elevation of cancer risk. Specific cancer types showing a positive association were breast, prostate, thyroid cancer or lymphoma.
